...help me out, would ya?

I have an audition next week for a musical adaptation of L.M.Montgomery's Emily books. I haven't read them, but assume they're vaguely Anne-ish in tone and type of characters and stuff.

So, I'm wondering what sort of female characters there are, and whether I'd be remotely suitable for them... For Emily and Ilse, they're looking for people who can play 14, which ain't me. Aunt Elizabeth is listed as age 40-50, so that ain't me either.

That leaves Aunt Laura (mezzo, age 30-40) and the double role of Miss Brownell/Janet Royal (mezzo/character belt, no age listed).

Anyone know anything about these characters? From my vague sleuthing so far, I guess Miss Brownell is a mean teacher, Janet Royal is a writer, and Aunt Laura is...the nice aunt? I don't know much.

I guess I'll just go in and sing a good song that shows off my voice-try not to overthing this, as I often do.

They want a monologue, too, which will be interesting-I've got several, but nothing that's of the right tone for this show, I don't think. Ah well.
